Daily Fret Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 8, 2026
Controller: Vahit İlker Sarıca
This Privacy Policy explains how Daily Fret ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use the Daily Fret iOS application or contact us about it. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app. Questions may be sent to ilker897@gmail.com.
1. Information We Collect
Anonymous account and practice data. When you tap Get Started, Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous account and assigns a user ID. Daily Fret stores your guitar type, playing experience, practice focus, tuning preset, fret count, default tempo, selected and bookmarked exercises, XP, exercise completions and timestamps, starter-plan progress, streaks, and daily goals. This information is stored locally and synced to Cloud Firestore. An anonymous ID may still be personal information under applicable law.
Analytics and technical information. We use Amplitude Analytics. It receives limited app events, including app opens, Get Started taps, anonymous sign-in success or failure, and related error codes. Amplitude may also receive the Firebase user ID when available, a device ID, app and operating-system versions, device model, carrier when available, event timestamps, IP address, and coarse location inferred from IP address. Daily Fret does not request GPS location. Firebase may process IP address, user-agent, and operational or security data to authenticate users and prevent abuse.
Microphone. With your iOS permission, Daily Fret uses microphone input for the tuner and real-time note or chord detection. Audio is processed temporarily on your device. We do not record, store, or upload microphone audio.
Notifications. If permitted, Daily Fret schedules local practice reminders on your device. The current version does not use remote push notifications for marketing.
Communications. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. The app otherwise does not ask for a name, email, phone number, password, social login, payment-card details, contacts, photos, camera access, precise location, or health records.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide the app, create the anonymous account, and store and sync practice progress.
- Personalize your practice plan, exercises, goals, streaks, and settings.
- Analyze microphone input locally to provide tuner and exercise feedback.
- Schedule reminders you have permitted through iOS.
- Understand product use, diagnose failures, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and secure the Services.
- Respond to support and privacy requests and comply with law or protect legal rights.
Daily Fret does not use personal information for decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Practice recommendations affect only your in-app experience.
3. Legal Bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform our agreement with you and provide requested features; with your consent for microphone and notification permissions; for our legitimate interests in improving, securing, and supporting the app; and where necessary to comply with law or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. You may withdraw device permissions in iOS Settings.
4. How We Share Information
We may share information with the following recipients only for the purposes described:
- Google LLC (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore): anonymous user ID, cloud practice data, IP address, and technical or security information for authentication, storage, and sync. See Firebase Privacy & Security.
- Amplitude, Inc.: app events, user and device identifiers, and technical information for product analytics and troubleshooting. See the Amplitude Privacy Notice.
- Apple Inc.: Apple independently processes information related to App Store distribution, iOS permissions, and operating-system services under the Apple Privacy Policy.
- Legal, safety, and business purposes: professional advisers, authorities, or a successor to the app when reasonably necessary, legally required, or subject to appropriate protections.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use third-party advertising SDKs in the current app.
5. Retention and Deletion
Local app data remains until you reset it, delete the app, or iOS removes it. Firebase account and practice data are generally kept while needed to provide cloud sync. Analytics is retained according to our Amplitude settings and for as long as reasonably necessary for product analysis, security, and recordkeeping. Limited backup or log copies may remain temporarily after deletion.
To delete Daily Fret data, open Settings > Data > Reset My Data. The app will attempt to delete the current Firestore record and anonymous Firebase account, then clear local app data. This does not necessarily delete historical analytics already received by Amplitude; email us to request analytics deletion. Simply uninstalling the app may leave the anonymous Firebase account and cloud record in place.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You can revoke microphone or notification permission in iOS Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know whether we process your data; access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a portable copy of it; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; appeal a decision; and complain to a regulator. These include rights that may apply under the GDPR, UK GDPR, Türkiye's Law No. 6698 (KVKK), and U.S. state privacy laws. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Send requests to ilker897@gmail.com. We may ask for information needed to verify the request. Because accounts are anonymous, using Reset My Data while you still have access to the app is normally the most reliable way to delete the correct cloud record. Rights may be limited where an exception applies.
7. International Transfers and Security
We are based in Türkiye. Google and Amplitude may process information in other countries, including the United States. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer safeguards and contractual protections.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. Firebase uses encrypted connections, and Cloud Firestore rules restrict each signed-in anonymous account to its own user record. Local data is kept within the iOS app sandbox. No electronic system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
Daily Fret is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where local law requires a higher age for consent, a parent or guardian must provide valid authorization. Contact us if you believe a child provided information without appropriate consent.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the app, our providers, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will show a new last-updated date. We may provide an additional notice for material changes.
